It is expected that, once fully operational, CONVECS computing services will be used by more than 500 users (researchers, faculty, and technical staff). Currently, the project directly involves the following partners:
- University of Padua
Lead partner and project coordinator, contributing to the creation of the main computing site in Padua in collaboration with INFN. - National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN)
Collaborates with the University of Padua on the establishment of the primary computing site through the INFN Padua branch and the Legnaro National Laboratories (LNL), expanding and sharing existing resources. - University of Verona
Contributes by creating a secondary computing node at the University of Verona data centers. - Ca’ Foscari University of Venice
Contributes by creating a secondary computing node at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice data centers. - Venice University of Architecture (IUAV)
Participates in technological development and research projects in collaboration with the other partners.
For more information, you can consult the page dedicated to the scientific impact of the CONVECS project and its connections with the research community.
The creation of the computing infrastructure has been made possible thanks to multiple funding sources, including a notable €15 million contribution from the Veneto Region.
The project is financed by the PR Veneto FESR 2021–2027 program, Priority 1 – Specific Objective 1.1 – Action 1.1.2. The total funding amounts to €16,666,666.67, of which €6,000,000 is contributed by the European Union.
